Francis will visit Jakarta from September 3-6, Port Moresby and Vanimo from September 6-9, Dili from September 9-11, and Singapore from September 11-13, the Vatican said in a statement on Friday.
Vietnam, which had been suggested by the Pope and Vatican officials as a possible destination during the Asia trip, was not mentioned.
The trip is expected to be taxing for Francis, who is 87 and whose recent health has been poor, forcing him to cancel engagements including some Easter events in March.
