It didn’t take long for Shepparton United recruit Marcus Wattie to make an impact as a Demon.
Not only did he rack up 22 disposals, 11 ground ball gets, four clearances and five score involvements in his new side’s Good Friday triumph over Deakin Reserve rival Shepparton - Wattie also submitted an early entry for Goulburn Valley League goal of the year.
After a swarm of United players brought the ball the length of the field in the final quarter, Wattie found himself on the end of a long bomb in the ‘playground pocket’.
