The Grays, who represented the Murray Bushrangers in the NAB League this year, would receive $500 each thanks to the trust.
BYSPT trustee Karen Edwards said it was fantastic to see another donation going to Benalla’s exciting young sportspeople.
“We are very pleased to provide this donation to the girls,” Edwards said.
“The Grays are very promising young footballers who have and continue to show potential with the Murray Bushrangers, VIC Country and other representative selections.
“There’s a lot of travel required for regional sportspeople, so we’re hoping this donation can support them with that among other things.”
Despite missing out on selection at the latest AFLW draft, Madison has been invited to train with Essendon ahead of their inaugural season, while Tayissa will continue to ply her trade at VFL outfit Port Melbourne next season.
Edwards thanked the trusts sponsors in the Royal Hotel, Farmer’s Arms Hotel, Goulburn Murray Credit Union, Benalla Rotary Club, Benalla Lions Club, Peter Davis Rural, Benalla Rural City and Aussie Community Chest for their continued support.
“We’ve had a big run in the first half of the year, it’s really pleasing to get some money out to our young sportspeople after a couple of years off,” she said.
“A big thank you goes to the Rural City Community Grants Program as well for their assistance.”
