Weather dampens week’s golf at Seymour

All three competitions at Seymour Golf Club were played on Wednesday, August 14, which was just as well given it was the only competition day that went ahead last week.

The rain on Saturday, August 17, was just a bit too much to make a round of golf pleasant, so no competitions were held that day.

On the Wednesday, the women played a stableford round and competed for the August monthly medal.

The winner was Paula Britton (17) with 35 points. The nearest-the-pin on the 17th stayed with the club and the ball pool went to Britton and Jane Hanson with 28 points.

The mixed nine holes was won by Ian Stuart (19) with 17 points.

In the men’s results, the best score of the day went to Dave Hamilton (6), who won A-grade with a great score of 38 points.

B-grade was won by Graham Kiper with 33 points. The nearest-the-pins went to Bill Matthews on the fourth and sixth, Hamilton on the 12th and Luke Rogan on the 17th.

The ball pool included Hamilton, Bill Matthews, Mark Fountain, Graeme Drummond, Rogan and Kiper with 33 points.

On Friday, August 23, the social six-hole will be stableford over holes one to six.

On Saturday, August 24, both the men and women will play stableford.
