Double joy: Joshua Hart claimed the under-14 MVP and best and fairest awards.
The Wangaratta District Junior Football League held its presentation night earlier this week.

Plenty of awards were up for grabs across all age groups.
Benalla Football Club was well represented in all the awards, which highlighted how successful the local football program is and the bright future of football in the junior ranks.
Ollie Parker from the Bulldogs took home the goal-kicking award for the under-12s with an outstanding effort of 43 goals for the season.
Best and fairest: Joshua Montgomery did not go home empty-handed.
The under-12s MVP top 10 was a who’s who of Benalla players with the following:
2nd — Joshua Montgomery — 27
3rd — Xavier De Fazio — 26
4th — Hugh Ross — 25
6th — Tom Mount — 21
7th — Ben Wells — 20
Next came the best and fairest for the under-12s, judged by the field umpires. Congratulations to Joshua Montgomery for taking out this award:
1st — Joshua Montgomery — 31
4th — Jack Hart — 27
6th — Xavier De Fazio — 19
8th — Tom Mount — 15
The under-14s were next, and Josh Hart from the Giants took home both the most valuable player (54 votes) and the best and fairest (42 votes) for the evening.
Claiming these awards was a fantastic achievement for Josh and rounded out an outstanding season for him in the 14s.
Top award: Xavier Wapling claimed the MVP award for the under-17s.
In the under-17s categories, Xavier Wapling won the most valuable player for the second year in a row with 38 votes, with Owain Boyle 3rd (23), Will Botten 5th (21) and Daniel Farley 7th (17).
In the best and fairest count, Owain Boyle came in third with 19 votes and Xavier Wapling fifth with 16 votes.
Overall, it was a fantastic night for the league, especially for Benalla boys.
