It was a successful day out for the Lindsay Park Racing stable, with brothers Ben, J.D and Will saluting in the opening race of the day with three-year-old filly Macedon Rose, ridden by Blake Shinn, before Celine Gaudray steered Entrusting home in race three to complete a double for the trio.
Shinn was perhaps the only person to enjoy a better day out than the Lindsay Park outfit, as he added wins aboard Enver Jusufovic-trained New York Lustre in race five, and New Sovereign for trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr in race seven, to bring up his 74th win of the 2024-25 season in just his 355th ride.
Matt Cumani bagged a winner with Secretdream, ridden by Cian Macredmond, in race two, while the Hawkes Racing trio of father John and sons Wayne and Michael saluted with Liam Riordan aboard Statice in race four.
Gareth Andrews was also among the winners, as Logan Bates helmed Dio to the win in race six, while two-time Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Robert Hickmott rounded out proceedings as Revelare claimed victory with jockey Ryan Hurdle on its back in race eight.
Elsewhere, Seymour father-son duo Lee and Shannon Hope also enjoyed a solid finish to the year with five-year-old mare Delta Sky claiming a win over 1500m at Moonee Valley.
The win marks a third consecutive triumph for the horse, having won in its two previous starts, both at Geelong, with the victory at The Valley its first start in four weeks after being freshened.
Another metro start looms for the mare, which has been nominated for races over 1600m at Flemington on January 11, although fields are yet to be finalised.
While the Kids Day Out marked the final day of racing at Seymour for 2024, punters won’t have long to wait for the first meet of 2025, with Thursday racing set for January 16, before a Wednesday meet on February 12.
