The Sharks swam well with a number of top-20 and top-10 finishes from Sienna Lynch, Kadey Macklin and Stella Freeman.
The boys were just as impressive with Maconnel Malone and Oliver Kingston making multiple finals.
Maconnel finished a huge third in the 12 years boys’ 200m backstroke and fifth in the 12 years boys’ 100m backstroke.
Oliver narrowly missed out on a medal, taking fourth in the 14 years 100m breaststroke.
Maconnel’s top-three placing saw him selected in to the Victorian Junior Talent squad.
The Sharks are very proud of all their swimmers who took part in the State Age Championships.
The following weekend, the Sharks had the Victorian Country All Junior Competition where all the swimmers swam amazingly and a number made finals that were held the following day.
They were Kadey, Koa Parker, Chloe Harvey-Bredden, Amelia Baker, Jack Baker, Stella and Sienna.
The swimmers all swam tremendously with some great personal best times and Koa even nabbed third place in her 50m butterfly race.
At the beginning of term two, the Victorian School State Championships were held and the largest number of Sharks made it through to the state round.
Huge congratulations to the swimmers who placed in the top eight in their individual swims — Kadey Macklin (seventh in 200m freestyle, sixth in 50m breaststroke, fourth in 50m freestyle and sixth in 50m backstroke), Finn Melville (fifth in 50m butterfly) and Oliver Kingston (third in 50m breaststroke, third in 50m freestyle, fifth in 50m butterfly and sixth 50m backstroke).
The team also had a number of swimmers in the relays who finished in the top eight and the Sharks are proud of each and every one of them.
To top off a successful summer, Oliver and coach Kylie travelled to the Gold Coast for the Australian Age Championships where Oliver put in an impressive effort to finish 31st in the country.
Go Sharks!
