Wednesday was a stableford round at Seymour Golf Club, and the winner of A-grade was Ciaran Fountain, with 35 points.
The B-grade winner was Bill Keating with 33 points.
Bill Matthews was nearest the pin on the fourth and second holes and on the sixth, Ciaran Fountain was the closest.
On the 17th, it was Roger Edwards.
The ball pool included Ciaran Fountain, John Muscovich, John Boruch, Paul Niebling and Bill Keating.
The mixed nine-hole event was won by Bill Brock (14) with 19 points.
Saturday, October 5
Saturday was the October monthly medal and the start of the men’s championships.
While everyone went out in the sunshine, unfortunately, the showers came before most could finish their rounds.
The winner of the monthly medal and A-grade was Damien Humphrey, who also had the top scratch score of the day, 71.
The B-grade winner was Ciaran Fountain with 74, and the C-grade was won by John Mundy with 76.
The nearest the pins went to Paul Niebling on the fourth, Mark Fountain on the sixth, Charles Davies on the 12th and Mick Prorok on the 17th.
Russell Peel won the drive and pitch on the eighth, and on the 15th, it was Matt O’Sullivan.
The ball pool went to those with 77 or better, which included Damien Humphrey, Mark Fountain, Greg Pell, Ciaran Fountain, John Mundy, John Muscovich, Ian Richardson and Luke Rogan.
The women played a stableford round, and the winner was Shirley Wright, who scored 36 points.
The extra competition for the best odd-hole score went to Di Byrne with 19 points.
This Friday, October 11, the social nine holes is stableford over holes seven to 15.
On Saturday, October 12, it is a stroke round for both the men and women, with the men continuing their championship, while the women will be playing their first round.
