The wet weather before Wednesday kept the competition field small, but Seymour Golf Club members enjoyed sunshine, despite the cold.

The winner was Bill Matthews (5), who had a good score of 36 points.

The only nearest-the-pin claimed was on the sixth hole, and it was also won by Matthews.

The ball pool winners were Matthews, Greg Pell and Ian Richardson, each with 31 points.

Saturday was a par round on another fine winter’s day. However, the course conditions remained challenging for most.

Dave Enrico (10) had a steady square score, winning A-grade on a countback from Richardson.

The B-grade winner was Sean Boland (16) with -2.

The heavier conditions made nearest-the-pins harder to achieve, with only two claimed: the 12th by Enrico and the 17th by Boland.

Similarly, for the drive-and-pitch, only the eighth hole was taken and that was by Dave Pearce.

The ball pool winners, with scores of -2 or better included Enrico, Richardson, Matt Collard, Bill Schaeffer-Steele and Boland.
