The pair love playing on the Corowa course in the Marcus Fraser Ambrose – the next one being in March 2023 – and are looking forward to playing on the picturesque Howlong course, starting next month with the Pro Am featuring a total of about 170 players.
“Getting this Pro Am is another huge-get, on top of the Blitz Golf here this December,” Howlong Golf Resort General Manager Shaun Whitechurch told The Free Press.
“There will be $40,000 in prizemoney. Sponsors have been terrific, headed by Elders Insurance and are much appreciated.”
Mr Whitechurch expects the Elders Insurance Murray River Classic to attract 100 amateurs from Howlong and district for the individual stableford competition as well as the over 70 professionals throughout Australia.
Howlong Pro Shop is preparing for a big Thursday, October 27. “It’ll be good,” director of coaching Paul Steiner said last Sunday. “We’ve got 77 professionals as of today.”
