Dynamic midfielder Joey Ugle will join the Roos in 2025 after having showcased his talents with South Cairns, the Perth Demons (WAFL), and North Melbourne (VFL).
“With explosive pace and classy skills, Joey is just as comfortable finding the goals as he is setting up his teammates,” the club said on their Facebook page.
“His ability to take the game on and light up the field will make him an instant fan favourite at JFO!
“Joey and his partner will be relocating to the region in the new year, and we can’t wait to see him in the Blue and White.”
Barellan best and fairest Riley Irvin will also join the Roos for the 2025 season.
Irvin arrives at John Foord Oval with an impressive football résumé, having claimed the 2024 best and fairest award and earning a spot in the Farrer Football League Team of the Year while playing for the Barellan Two Blues.
“A versatile and dynamic player, Riley brings immense value to our squad with his ability to excel at either end of the ground, as well as performing strongly as a ruckman,” the club said on their Facebook page.
“Currently showcasing his talents with Waratahs in the NTFL, Riley will join the main squad in time for next year’s campaign. “
On the netball court, the Roos announced last week that former Roo and 2024 O&M premiership best on court Emma Laracy is returning home from a stint at the Yarrawonga Pigeons.
“Lara is a huge signing who brings even more exciting youth to the Roos squad as well as class A experience as a top player within the O&M,” the club said on their Facebook page.
“Lara can be lethal in the goal circle as well as being adaptable, quick and long-limbed out in WD.
“We are also excited to announce that Emma will be Co-Coaching the 17s and under with Sophie Hanrahan for the 2025 season.”
