Despite just three games being played across the two leagues, supporters were treated to two big wins and one nine-point thriller.
In the senior competition, Tatura and Echuca were the only teams in action, with Benalla, Nathalia and Shepparton United given a week off.
The Friday night clash at Tatura Park was one-sided from the outset, with Echuca piling on 53 unanswered points in the first quarter.
Tatura performed better in the second, restricting the dominant Murray Bombers to 24 for the term, however the visiting side was simply too strong.
Echuca ran out a dominant 21.13 (139) to 0.0 (0) winner, with a six-goal haul to Paige Baksh seeing the number nine named the visitors’ best.
The result saw Echuca continue its undefeated run on top of the table, while Tatura is fifth.
• In the Youth Girls competition, Moama edged out Shepparton United in a nine-point thriller at Kialla Park.
The Sunday afternoon clash was full of twists and turns, with United leading by seven points at half-time and Moama up by one point after the third.
In the end, a strong last term got the visiting Magpies over the line, with Moama taking out a 9.7 (61) to 7.10 (52) win.
Payton Hearn starred for Moama with five goals, while Charli Guppy stood out for United.
In Sunday’s other game, Shepparton Swans got the job done against Echuca United at Echuca.
The Swans put in a well-rounded performance to take out the win, with Ellie Armstrong, Holly Egan and Summah McCrimmon putting in good shifts.
The final result of 14.9 (93) to 3.2 (20) was an impressive one and keeps the Swans in top spot on the ladder.
