The Lions travelled to the Memorial Oval courts to take on the reigning premier in what promised to be an enthralling encounter between two of the three remaining unbeaten sides, however it quickly became apparent the Magpies were a cut above, going on to claim a dominant 69-48 victory.
It was a decent start for Seymour, staying in touch despite Euroa getting the early jump, with the Lions heading into the first break 11-18 in arrears.
Having settled into the contest, the second term was much more competitive from the Lions, but the Magpies still managed to extend the advantage by four goals to lead 34-23 at the half.
Needing to overcome an 11-goal margin in the second half to steal a miraculous victory from the 2024 champion, Seymour required a fast start in the third quarter, however Euroa instead put the foot down, pouring in 18 goals to 10 to push the lead to a game-high 19 goals at the final break, effectively icing the contest.
The Lions showed great resolve to fight until the end, keeping pace with Euroa in a competitive final term, although it was the home side that ran out a 21-goal winner to keep its perfect record intact.
Ruby Martin was again excellent for Seymour, proving a real presence inside the shooting circle, while Toni Bootland impressed on the defensive end against tough Euroa opposition and Olivia Barry patrolled the midcourt with aplomb.
Having entered the contest with a 3-0 record, the Lions now sit third at 3-1 for the year with a healthy percentage behind Euroa and Shepparton, the only two sides to remain unbeaten.
A home fixture against Shepparton United awaits Seymour this Saturday at Kings Park, the first game in a huge month which will see the Lions face finals contenders Tatura, Shepparton and Mooroopna in consecutive weeks.
