After a disappointing 12-goal loss to Lancaster in the qualifying final, the Kangaroos wanted to make the most of their second chance against Shepparton East, who had narrowly defeated them in round 3.
After that slip-up, the Kangaroos went on a run that included 13 wins and a single loss.
They finished the regular season on top and headed into the semi-final as favourites.
From the opening whistle, the Kangaroos held the Eagles at arm's length throughout the day to ultimately emerge as 10-goal winners at Tallygaroopna Recreational Reserve.
Co-coaches Abbey Butler and Holly Nelson praised their squad's semi-final performance.
“Our amazing group have created history for the town of Girgarre by qualifying for the club's first-ever A-grade netball final; it is an incredible achievement,” Nelson said.
Butler echoed her thoughts.
“The girls have made history by getting this far, and it is something they can be so proud of,” Butler said.
It was a tough day on the courts for the Eagles, as despite having four teams in action, none came away with a victory.
In under-17s, they lost 36-42 to Stanhope.
In C-grade, Murchison-Toolamba got the better of them 26-33, and in C-reserve, Girgarre once again came away with the win 43-41.
The Kangaroos now move on to face Lancaster in a top-of-the-table grand final match but will go into Saturday as underdogs, having been defeated by 24 and 11 goals in the sides’ two games this year.
