The Eagles won in style in round 14 with perhaps their most dominant performance to date, shutting out Nathalia entirely at Nathalia Recreation Reserve.
United didn’t let up throughout the contest, kicking at least four majors in each quarter while stifling the Purples defensively to win 19.14 (128) to 0.
Harper Delamare (five goals) narrowly outscored teammate Jerrah Caruso, who kicked four, in the game’s goal-kicking tally.
The pair shares the same top two positions on the league’s goal-kicking list.
Ruby McLeod (3), Maisy Byrne and Willow Clark (2) also contributed multiple majors for the Eagles.
Also in round 14, Moama faced off with Barooga in a close contest at Moama Recreation Reserve.
The Hawks got the jump early to lead by a goal at the first break and by 10 points at half-time.
Both teams stalled offensively in the second half, with Moama managing the sole major, but some crucial behinds for the visitors gave them the narrow victory, 3.9 (27) to 3.6 (24).
Despite the loss, Moama (4-8) will sneak into the finals on percentage and will have their work cut out for them against the dominant United on Sunday.
Echuca United and Moama will face off in the Goulburn Murray Girls League semi-final at 10am at Tatura Park on Sunday.
