Expectations for an improved campaign have Cooma Cricket Club eagerly looking forward to the start of the new Goulburn Murray Cricket season on October 7.

In addition to its A grade men‘s team being bolstered by two English recruits, Cooma will have a women’s side padding up for the first time.
English recruits Hugo Bell and Matt Darvill have been in Australia for three weeks preparing for the season’s start and have participated in some lead up practice sessions games in which they have displayed some encouraging form.
Bell hails from Peterborough and is a nippy fast bowler while Darvill is a wicketkeeper-batsman from Chelmsford.
Cooma has lost only Tom Guerra from its A-grade side which will again be skippered by the experienced runmaker Jake Kelly.
Cooma will field sides in A, B and D grades as well as the new women’s side.
Any senior grade recruits at all levels will be welcomed and the club is still chasing female recruits, who will be welcomed by the club which has appointed club stalwart Adam Hubble as coach.
Women’s training sessions are held on Tuesdays from 5pm and any females who may be interested can turn up or give a call to 0438 984 220.
Cooma’s young and very active social committee and is also looking to stage several functions including the very popular Cooma bi-annual ball.
