Finley put on an impressive performance on Saturday against Cobram. Despite challenging weather conditions, the young team managed to secure a hard-fought win, bringing them one step closer to finals.
Our defence was rock-solid as always, creating numerous turnovers that were expertly converted into goals. The shooters maintained their usual accuracy, steadily extending the lead with each quarter.
Looking ahead, the A-grade team will be at full strength next week, with Lily Sharp returning to action from Queensland.

On a rainy day in Cobram, the Tigers got off to a quick start. Cats found their rhythm and pegged the lead back to only two at the end of the first quarter.
The wet conditions slowed the tempo of the game, the Tigers adapting best to a slippery ball and court.
Cobram shot accurately all day, and the Cats had to work hard for any rebounds in defence.
Our midcourters worked the ball carefully down the court to the shooters, who combined well. But ultimately, the Cats were down by 13 at the final whistle.
Awards: Garnaut Private Wealth - Steph Carter; Finley Country Club - Amarlee Price.

C-grade are not normally known for their wet weather play, but on the weekend, they proved they can be a strong team in any weather condition.
Everyone contributed on the court and played their role.
They had a few little lapses of concentration, but all in all, they were very good, which means they have almost secured the fifth spot on the ladder and are looking forward to a strong finals series.

A strong Cobram side and wet weather meant it was going to be a tough game.
However, the girls showed up for each other the whole game with smart simple movement of the ball and attempting to shut down passes from our defenders.
A few mistakes, which Cobram capitalised on, saw us go down by nine.
Awards: Essential Hair & Beauty - With strong leadership and influential at either end of the court, Kate Purtill; Finley Bakery - Strong pressure stopping easy passes get through, Katya Eddy.
Under-15s: Finley 23 def by Cobram 39.
In wet and slippery conditions we didn’t get off to the strong start we were looking for, however the second half saw us play our style of netball.
Tilly and Maddy combined beautifully in defence throughout the game and were well supported by Sophie and Teliah on the wing.
Milena again led by example through the centre court putting on a strong display of intercepts and loose ball gets and with Bella at WA both provided some well-timed feeds into the goal circle.
Maisie and Taesharn rewarded the team's efforts with some very accurate shooting.
Unfortunately, we were unable to make up the first half deficit going down 23-39.
Awards: Finley RSC - Maddy Price; Finley Bakery and Patisserie - Taesharn Crowe.
Under-13s: Finley 18 def by Cobram 48.
They were cold and wet conditions for our young side, but the girls played a good game against a strong and disciplined Cobram side.
The emphasis was on fun for the last few games, and the girls did a great job.

The youngest Cats played a great game in some unfavourable weather conditions.
They fought hard all game, chasing down every loose ball.
Tight defence allowed for many turnovers and opportunities.
Short sharp passes work effectively in bringing the ball down the court.
