Baldwin and Cassar triumph in Nagambie Golf Club Ambrose competition

A two-man Ambrose competition was held at Nagambie Golf Club this week.

Tim Baldwin and Ben Cassar took home the victory courtesy of the 65.5 net both players scored, which indicated their ability to hit long balls, a skill needed in the Ambrose format.

Gary Bow and Rhys Shepherd were runners-up, combining for a 74-7.75-66.25 net, the long bombing Shepherd complimenting the smooth putting stroke of Bow.

Bronze medallists on the day were John Hurley and David Love with 74-7.50-66.5 net.

Nearest-the-pins went to John Bell on the third, Graeme Cusack on the eighth, Jock Mundy on the 13th and Steve Donnison on the 16th.

Next week’s golf is the final monthly medal before the gold medal play-off in a fortnight.

B. Cryfe will be on office duty and J. Mills will be in the bar.
