Two people were flown to Melbourne hospitals and a third taken to a regional hospital after a boating incident at a popular tourist spot on Sunday, January 5.
NSW Police said emergency services were called to Lake Mulwala about 11.30am.
On arrival, officers attached to Murray River Police District were told that a ski boat towing a biscuit-style inflatable device came around a bend and the inflatable collided with a stationary fishing boat.
Victorian police and Ambulance Victoria officers arrived on scene at Yarrawonga.
Ambulance officers treated a 34-year-old man, a 10-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy for non-life-threatening injuries.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the girl was flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne in a serious but stable condition, with upper and lower body injuries.
The man was flown to Melbourne’s The Alfred hospital in a serious but stable condition, with lower body injuries.
The boy was taken by road ambulance to hospital in Wangaratta in a stable condition, with upper body injuries.
Victorian police will conduct further inquiries with the skipper of the towing boat and the skipper of the fishing boat.
