A man has been charged over an alleged break-in and assault at a Mooroopna pub.
Police said two men allegedly forced entry into the residence above the Royal Mail Hotel in McLennan St at about 4.15am on Sunday, November 24.
The men allegedly made demands for money before assaulting the man who lived there and fleeing the scene.
While there, it is believed a key to the pub was stolen, police said.
The 53-year-old man who was allegedly assaulted was taken first to Goulburn Valley Health before being transferred to Melbourne’s The Alfred Hospital later that day.
He is still receiving treatment and remains in hospital in Melbourne in a stable condition.
Police arrested a 31-year-old Mooroopna man during a search at his home on Monday.
