The Inland Rail Skills Academy is focussed on helping businesses grow their workforce ahead of the project.
The academy also focuses on building the skills needed for the next generation of rail workers, many which will be based in regional communities like Seymour.
The session will provide an overview of the Inland Rail project, a snapshot of the local labour market and information about support available for businesses that take on apprentices and trainees.
Inland Rail construction partner, McConnell Dowell will also share a first-hand account of the workforce opportunities available on the project.
Representatives from the ARTC, employment service providers, apprenticeship support agencies, businesses, and schools will attend the event.
ARTC Victoria and South Australia Projects General Manager, Ed Walker, said Inland Rail will bring jobs and economic stimulus to the communities it connects.
“The event is a great opportunity for local businesses to meet with employment service providers and other stakeholders in the region to make connections and grow their workforce,” Mr Walker said.
The event runs from 4pm to 6pm at the Seymour Racing Club, 55 Kobyboyn Rd, Seymour on Tuesday, May 16.
