State Member for Northern Victorian Jaclyn Symes was joined by Mitchell Shire Council representatives on March 26 to officially launch the Broadford Parks and Play Spaces project.
Situated just off the main street, the well-used Memorial Park playground will soon feature a large structure with climbing and balancing challenges, multi-level platforms, two slides, a four-way rocker and triple swing.
The playground will be significantly improved and provide equipment for older children, whose needs are currently not met at the park.
The upgrades at Memorial Park will also include a shade sail, picnic table and fencing.
Broadford Parks and Play Spaces project will include the installation of a nature playground and outdoor fitness equipment at two other sites in Broadford.
This project is possible thanks to $720,000 from the Victorian Government’s growing suburbs fund.
The Memorial Park playground will be closed during construction.
Nearby neighbourhood playgrounds that can be used in the meantime include Govett Reserve, White St, Donaldson Reserve, Donaldson Dve, Hamilton Reserve, Hamilton St, Sutherland Park, Sutherland St and Rupert Reserve and Rupert St.
