The students have been helping to build new vegetable gardens at the school, filling the garden bed with some new seedlings.
The seedlings were kindly donated by Bunnings Echuca.
The children and teachers can’t wait for the plants to grow and be harvested for some cooking lessons later in the term.
The fish are biting
Local anglers have been posting to Facebook about the wonderful catches they have been making from rivers and creeks around Deniliquin and district.
The Deniliquin Fishing Group Facebook page has been flooded with photos of anglers of all ages recording many catches recently.
One which caught our eye was of Chad Suckling with a whopper of a fish.
Patrick Westcott of Ranga With A Rod fame - a program he has taken on with father Rhys - also weighed in on the discussion.
“A few good cod for the weekend. Coddy lures working their magic as always. Bring on the colder weather,” he wrote.
Feel free to share your catches with us too.
You can email photos, fish size and where you caught the fish to jacquie.marshall@denipt.com.au. If you don’t want to give away your exact fishing spot, a general location will suffice.
Bringing back memories?
It seems as though you’re all loving our new ‘Do you remember?’ initiative on our Facebook page.
Our team will delve into the Pastoral Times archives each week and present you something new to ponder each Sunday.
To kick it off on Sunday, we went back to 1984 and a Mother’s Day advertisement from Sacks.
We asked you to share your own memories, and we certainly got you talking.
Quite a number recalled doing all their clothing and school uniform shopping there, and quite a few remembered having one of the famed Glomesh wallets or purses featured in the ad.
Regular shoppers clearly remembered manager Des Priest and other friendly staff members, with some former staff members even taking time to comment and share their own recollections.
Make sure to jump on our Facebook this Sunday for the newest instalment of ‘Do you remember?’
