For millennia, this art form has been taught, learnt and passed down through generations, and the Vic Stitch Cross-stitching Retreat Mooroopna returned to continue tradition.
For three days, from Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28, cross-stitchers from across Victoria came together to enjoy each other’s company, explore new techniques and thrive in a community of common interest.
On show: The event had a ‘brag table’, where attendees could display the work of which they were most proud.

Event organiser Naomi Godde said the retreat gave attendees access to vendors and goods they otherwise may not encounter.
“We’ve got various vendors that come from all over the place to provide us,” Ms Godde said.
“We have the opportunity to buy things that necessarily we won’t get in small towns.”

The first day of the event was a success, Ms Godde said.
“Today [Friday, May 26] has been fantastic,” she said.
“We’ve had people come in throughout the day, we’ve done bingo and some raffles and that sort of thing.”
Attendees were graced with a very special guest, Teddy the corgi, who kept a close eye on the day and made sure it all ran smoothly.
