“Good luck for the coming year, make the most of the time you have, and enjoy yourself.”
These are the words of State Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy as he wished all students in the region the very best as they embark on a new school year.
The Nationals MP and father of four made a special mention to students who were commencing school for the first time.
“There is no greater thrill for a parent, than taking your child to school on their very first day,” Mr McCurdy said.
“They are the future, and a good education is so important in ensuring they are set up for success.”
Mr McCurdy said his thoughts were also with the Year 7 students who were beginning secondary school.
“I wish the new Year 7 students the very best for 2023, as they begin their secondary school journey,” he said.
“It can be a daunting experience when you have to restart all over. The new kid on the block, making new friends, and figuring out new routines and activities.
Mr McCurdy didn’t forget the students who this year would be completing VCE and gave the students a piece of advice.
“Always remember to have fun and do what you love doing.”
