The couple is selling the leasehold to the business to put more time and energy into the Railway Hotel at Murchison East.
Paul and Emilia said they were impressed with Nagambie when they started exploring options for owning a country pub.
“I always had a hankering for running a country pub and we didn’t have to look any further than Nagambie to make that happen,” Paul said.
“You’ve got the beauty of the lake, the great wineries, the thoroughbred industry and all the different events that go on in the area.
“Our goal was to do three to seven years here and we’ve reached that now. We love Nagambie but we want to focus on the hotel in Murchison because we have the freehold over there.
“The Royal Mail Hotel is a great opportunity, and I hope someone can come in and pick up where we left off.”
Paul said he and Emilia struggled in the first few months at the Royal Mail Hotel due to their inexperience.
“We knew nothing at the start, so the first few months we were just trying to get our heads around it all,” he said.
“Plus we wanted to be more than just a place for alcohol and food. We’ve pushed to have regular live events and fundraisers.
“We’ve raised about $90,000 for various causes and community groups in our time here. It’s been nice to be able to give back to the community that’s embraced us.
“The growth of the town has also been enjoyable to watch. There’s so much that has happened and so much in the works.
“Nagambie is going to continue to be a great place to live and a big attraction for people to visit.
“And while the Royal Mail is for sale, nothing will change in the way we approach our business.”
The leasehold for the Royal Mail Hotel is priced at $450,000 plus stock. For more information, call Paul Golding on 0437 777 305.
