Current owner Courtney Carroll said her parents started the shop when she was 13 years old.
“It's been in our family for a long time,” she said.
“Mum and Dad retired. They had the shop up for sale for a little while,”
In October 2021, Ms Carroll bought the shop and has been running it since, continuing the family business.
“I think people were a little bit worried when business has changed over like new people come in,” she said.
“They were so used to (her mum and dad) ... they had it for so long, but when they found out, it's just staying in a family-owned business, I feel like people were happier.”
Ms Carroll said that the community has been supportive of the business, especially during the October 2022 floods.
“They've (the community) known it for so long, and they want to keep supporting them by supporting us,” she said.
“I find the community is really good.”
“I feel like we've had a lot of support, especially with the floods happening and continued support.”
Growing up seeing her parents run the shop and then transitioning to being the owner, Ms Carroll said it made her appreciate her parents more.
“Definitely got a lot more appreciation for mum and dad once I got in here and understand how busy it was and so much going on and so much to learn about all the different aspects of the business,” she said.
“There's a battery shop down there as well ... We're doing gas, and all different repairs.
There’s so many different aspects of the business that you have to learn.
“I probably didn't realise how much and how hard and how full on it was until I got here.”
The Mower Shop gets busy throughout the year with sales of Stihl products, but this winter, they get busy with car battery services.
“Right now, we're doing a lot of (car) batteries because of the cold weather,” Ms Carroll said.
“Just drive down, we'll change the battery and do gas change over as well.”
Ms Carroll said winter is a common time when many people get their car batteries replaced or fixed.
“(It’s) just because batteries get cold and they don’t like being cold,” she said.
“Unless it's a healthy battery and you're using it constantly, if they’re sitting around in the cold they will just go flat.”
Besides batteries and repairs, The Mower Shop also has chainsaws and other tools for a winter deal.
They have a winter promo of $500 off on Stihl chainsaws, buy two of the same chain loop and get the third for free, a 25 percent off on chaps and cuts resistant pants, and more in their catalogue.
Ms Carroll said she looks forward to everyone coming in to their shop and is ready to help.
“We want to look after our customers and a lot of people we've known for a long time and we want to offer good service” she said.
“You have to help people out and fix things, fix what we can for them.
“Just continue on mum and dad's good service, and hopefully, we can be here as long as they have.”
