Home to native flora and fauna such as the sugar glider, speckled warbler and purple beard orchid, the Seymour Bushland Park has regenerated over the past 40 years to become a wildlife refuge.
Seymour Bushland Park management committee and environment group BEAM are teaming up next month to provide visitors with a free nature walk, guided by local experts.
Management committee treasurer Zara Marais said spring was a wonderful time to visit the park, which is located about 2km south-east of Seymour on the Goulburn Valley Hwy.
“The committee is excited to show visitors the beautiful orchids and other wildflowers, point out any birds that we hear and share our knowledge of other animals that have been spotted in the park,” she said.
“We hope that visitors will learn something new about the natural world, and enjoy a delicious morning tea in a beautiful setting.”
There will be something for the whole family, with a nature walk and kids’ activities planned for the free event on Sunday, October 13.
