Tahbilk Estate is holding its first family-friendly festival, Tabilk-Tabilk Community Festival, on Saturday, September 10 from 10am to 4pm.
The day promises music, food, wine and activities for the whole family, with local musicians kicking off the day from 10am.
There will be a range of food trucks featuring delights from local producers. Wine tasting will be available from Tahbilk and Box Grove vineyards, the cellar door will also be open.
There will also be a range of local stalls that you would not normally find at the Tahbilk Market.
Join in workshops such as a guided tour of the Tabilk-Tabilk Indigenous Flora Trail or a boat cruise along the wetland waterways.
Animal lovers can experience free snake and reptile demonstrations or waterbug testing, which will be sure to keep the kids entertained.
Taungurung elders Uncle Shane and Auntie Jo will share their boundless knowledge of the history and culture of their people, including the use of fire in their landscapes. Activities for the kids will include Dreamtime stories with colouring in and making possum skin armbands.
The festival will be held next to the Wetlands View Restaurant at the Tahbilk Estate and parking is available on site. Guests are encouraged to bring camp chairs and picnic rugs for the day.
All workshops are free; however, bookings are recommended. Head to https://tahbilk.com.au/tabilk-tabilkcommunityfestival for more information.
