Strathbogie Shire community group grants up for grabs

Community groups and event organisers in the Strathbogie Shire have been called on to secure grant funding.

On April 9, Strathbogie Shire Council launched its 2025-26 Community Grants Program, which sets out to support projects that strengthen, connect and celebrate the community.

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Claire Ewart-Kennedy said community groups should take advantage of the program.

“Council values the role our community plays in building a resilient, inclusive and connected Strathbogie Shire,” Cr Ewart-Kennedy said.

“These grants provide the financial support needed to transform great ideas into action.”

There are three funding streams available as part of the grants program.

Funding streams

Sustainability grants: For projects that align with council’s Climate Change Action Plan.

Applications are open from April 16 to May 21.

Community strengthening grants: For projects that foster social connection and inclusion.

Applications are open from April 16 to May 21.

Quick response grants: Grants of up to $1000 to support smaller projects.

Applications are open from July 1, 2025 to May 29, 2026 (or until funds are exhausted.)

“Last year, we were delighted to support 19 successful Community Grant applicants, delivering over $163,000 in community-led projects that benefited our shire,” Cr Ewart-Kennedy said.

“We look forward to seeing more inspiring ideas come to life this year.”
