The holiday program is available to primary and high school aged children.
Starting Monday, January 6, the sessions will be offered each weekday until January 24.
High school students can receive instruction in guitar, while primary school aged children can learn to play the ukulele or the metallophone - similar to a xylophone.
For each instrument, there will be allotted days throughout the program.
Metallophone lessons will fall on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while the ukulele lessons will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Each session runs from 10am to 10.45am, at a cost of $10 per session. Places are limited to five and six children per instrument group, respectively.
Guitar sessions will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am to 11.45am, and are also $10 per session. Group numbers are capped at six.
And that’s not all the conservatorium is putting on for kids this holiday period.
They are also offering ‘come and try’ type sessions for other instruments.
Called ‘5 Days, 5 Instruments’, it’s a free program that invites young musicians to get hands on experience with a new instrument each day - flute on Mondays, ukulele on Tuesdays, saxophone on Wednesdays, clarinet on Thursdays and piano on Fridays.
For more information about any of the programs, or to book for one of the instrument sessions, contact music teacher Christian Ruiz on christian.ruiz@swmusic.org.au.
