Seymour College and St Mary’s College have both closed, sending messages to parents to collect their students early on Thursday, October 13.
“It’s obviously not the first time and it won’t be the last time,” St Mary’s College principal Wayne Smith said.
Some local businesses have also closed, saying that due to the flooding and wellbeing of staff, they would not remain open.
Residents have been seen sandbagging their properties, as conditions are predicted to worsen over coming days, with some locals expecting the river to rise another metre.
