Does your local community need a new swimming pool, females’ change room, court, sports field or pavilion?
State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced that applications for round two of the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund were now open, aiming to upgrade and build essential sports infrastructure within regional communities.
“This fund is about giving northern Victoria’s sport and recreation participants appropriate facilities they need and can be proud of,” Ms Symes said.
The RCSIF features five funding streams designed to cater to a broad range of needs, including the development of indoor stadiums, aquatic facilities and upgrades specifically for women and girls.
Additional grants of up to $50,000 will also be available to boost participation for individuals with disabilities, ensuring that inclusivity is a key focus.
Since the program began, over $20 million has been invested in 26 projects statewide.
A previous project in northern Victoria was the installation of female-friendly change rooms at the Longwood Football Netball Club.
“I encourage local community-based clubs and organisations to connect with their local council and take advantage of this opportunity to build and upgrade important facilities and help more people of all ages, abilities and genders to get involved in sport and recreation,” Ms Symes said.
Applications for this round of funding are open until March 17, 2025.
