At a ceremony on Sunday, the Mitchell branch of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia remembered the 60,000 personnel from the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army and the Royal Australian Air Force who served in Vietnam.
About 80 people attended the Vietnam Veterans' Commemorative Walk in Seymour for speeches, a lantern parade and wreath laying.
Veterans and their families were joined at the ceremony by Member for Euroa Steph Ryan, Mitchell Shire Mayor Bill Chisholm and Councillor Rhonda Sanderson.
Reverend Don Kaus officiated the day and students from St Mary’s College Seymour, Seymour College and Puckapunyal Primary School were led by bagpiper Graham Stewart in the lantern parade.
The day was also marked at Kings Park, Seymour, on Saturday for the match between Seymour and Mooroopna.
