This was the first time in the sub-branch's history that all executive members were women.
Lesley Rinehart-Muir (ex-navy) was elected as president of the sub-branch. Lucille Thomas (ex-air force) and Lynne Mills (ex-army) were elected as vice president and secretary, respectively.
Ms Rinehart-Muir was the first female president when she was elected in 2003, said that she was thrilled to be part of this historic moment. She added that the committee was committed to ensuring that the sub-branch continued to serve the needs of the local veteran community and their families.
The outgoing committee members were thanked for their service, and the new committee members were welcomed with open arms. Terry Glassborow and John Ferrari, were also elected to the committee, providing a balance of experience to the committee.
“The new committee is looking forward to serving the local community and ensuring that the sub-branch continues to be a vital part of the community for many years to come,” Ms Rinehart-Muir said.
The Corowa RSL Sub-Branch has a proud history of serving the local community with the new committee committed to continuing that tradition. The sub-branch offers a range of services, including support for veterans and their families, commemorative events, and social activities.
