The rose garden, in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II, was dedicated in September, but because of the inclement weather, a blessing ceremony could not be held out in the open.
The dedication was held in the Nagambie Mechanics Hall.
St John’s Anglican minister Reverend Richard Pennington and rose garden co-ordinator Diane Grant led the dedication service.
They gave donors and supporters certificates of appreciation for their help in establishing the garden.
Individuals and local community groups donated a total of 17 roses.
Each rose is blooming and is labelled with the rose name and the donor names.
On Saturday, November 11, Ms Grant welcomed people to the blessing of the Queen Elizabeth II Rose Garden in the nature strip in Nagambie’s main street, near the water tower.
Ms Grant thanked all who helped make the garden a reality and thanked Phil Hageman for watering the garden manually for three months, thus keeping the rose plants alive.
The council hopes to have a sprinkler system working soon to water the garden.
Reverend Pennington made a souvenir booklet for those who attended the blessing ceremony.
He led the service that included prayers for the late Queen and the garden.
