During that time, she had raised her three children and a grandchild living with autism.
When she decided it was time to take a risk and see if she could find a fulfilling job locally, she visited Benalla’s APM Disability Employment Services.
That decision turned her fortunes around.
Robyn said she wouldn’t have been able to cope without the APM team and the assistance it offered.
At times, her anxiety had been overwhelming, and quite often she was left unsure where to turn to or what to do.
When asked about her experience with the APM team, Robyn’s face lit up.
“The team helped me push myself out of my comfort zone in a gentle way that I was able to cope with, helping to build my confidence,” she said.
Through the assistance of the APM team, Robyn is now permanently employed at Cooinda Aged Care, where she is a valued, confident and compassionate worker.
Even though Robyn is busy with her dream job, she still finds time to pop into APM to say hi.
She describes the APM team in Benalla as her “go-to A-team”.
“I feel like I am not just a mum any more,” she said.
“With my confidence has come empowerment and success.”
