River Gum Florist opened at 32 McIntyre St in Seymour three weeks ago Lorraine and her team have been organising the shop and receiving non-stop orders.
“We’ve been getting orders on our website or coming in over the phone … people walking into the shop to order,” Lorraine said.
She said the days leading up to Mother’s Day would be busy.
River Gum Florist has been a functioning business for the past 30 years, operated from Lorraine’s home.
Now, she finally has her own shop and is ready to bring special gifts to the mothers in the region.
Besides flowers, River Gum Florist has chocolates, wines, vases and ceramic pots, plants, garden features and a range of JellyCat bears available for Mother’s Day.
“We’re the only supplier that comes to Seymour with JellyCat,” Lorraine said.
In terms of flowers, chrysanthemums and sunflowers are a favourite for Mother’s Day.
Other flowers that are on the list are oriental and Asiatic lilies, lisianthus and roses.
The florist is also collaborating with district rad kids Gnarly Neighbours for a Mother’s Day treat.
Customers can purchase a flower and coffee voucher, where you can get a small flower arrangement on one side of a cupholder and a cup of coffee on the other, at Gnarly Neighbours’ new stomping ground at 2 Crawford St, Seymour.
River Gum Florists will be doing Mother’s Day deliveries in Seymour, Nagambie, Avenel and Puckapunyal from Friday, May 10, until Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12.
“Get your orders in quick,” Lorraine said.
“Any other areas, they need to ring us and we can see what we can do with deliveries out of town.”
River Gum Florist will be open until late on Saturday, May 11, to receive as many orders possible.
