Arts for All Inc will run three art workshops on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8.
The workshops will be held at the Arts for All headquarters in the Old St Joseph’s Church on Broadway St, Cobram, with limited spots available.
The first workshop on Saturday morning will see attendees create a resin cheeseboard and coasters.
The second workshop, held on the same Saturday from 2pm to 4pm, will comprise resin jewellery making.
Participants will create four jewellery pieces using resin, including necklaces, earrings and key rings.
On Sunday, October 8, Arts for All will hold a workshop called Alcohol Ink, comprising the decorating and personalisation of clothing and kitchenware.
The Sunday session will start at 10am and finish by noon.
Attendees must be aged 16 or over.
Arts for All assistant treasurer Julie Glance said the workshops were an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn new skills.
“It’s fun; they get to make useful items to take home, and it’s a way to meet new people,” she said.
“All our workshops are fun.”
In other Arts for All news, September has been busy for the Cobram-based organisation, which has spent the month beautifying the town.
In collaboration with Tank and Tobin Sculpture Work, the group recently placed a metal sculpture of a turtle called Sherman outside Cobram’s IGA store.
According to Ms Glance, the name Sherman wasn’t chosen at random.
“Some of his components came from a tank,” she said.
Arts for All, in conjunction with Cobram Barooga Apex Club, has also commissioned former Barooga local Louan Walker to paint a mural on the walls of the Grand Central Hotel and Amcal Chemist.
Ms Walker recently completed a mural at Barooga Public School, where she once studied.
