Darry Fraser will make her first visit to the Cohuna Library for the Author Talks program to speak about her new book, The Night on the Darling River.
Gannawarra Shire Council chief executive Geoff Rollinson said it was a pleasure to welcome Ms Fraser back to the area.
“Darry’s collection is one of our popular selections by Gannawarra Library Service members, and this month’s visit will book out quickly,” he said.
The Murray River often serves as the backdrop for Ms Fraser’s tales of historical fiction, which incorporate Australia’s past, Mr Rollinson said.
The visit coincides with the launch of what will be the author’s 15th book, which is set in 1894 amid rising floodwaters and the violence of shearer’s strikes.
Ms Fraser will give her talk at Cohuna Library from 2pm on Thursday, January 30.
Places for the event are limited, and can be booked via the Gannawarra Library Service by calling 5452 1546 or 5456 2124.
