Lost property
Benalla police are appealing to the public for information regarding a custom made ring that was lost in the vicinity of Carrier St Benalla earlier this year. If you find a valuable item, take it to a police station, a person can be charged with theft if they find something belonging to another and keep it or deal with it as if they are its owner. You can report lost property via the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
Drive thieves away
Police are warming residents not to leave vehicles unattended to warm up on cold mornings. The practice of leaving vehicles unattended with keys in the ignition gives thieves an opportunity to quickly drive away with your vehicle. Allow extra time in your morning to warm up your vehicle while you are in it. This small inconvenience may prevent a significant inconvenience if your vehicle is stolen.
