Evans, who has been a star of the Coates Talent League this season, was not selected in the senior team and kicked four goals in a best afield display in the Murray Bombers’ 132-point win.
Echuca kicked an extraordinarily accurate 23.8 (146) and kept the Tigers to 2.2 (14), both of those goals coming in the first half when Harrison Foster and Ned Sinclair hit the scoreboard.
Rochester battled gamely against the odds in the opening term, keeping Echuca to five goals in both the first and second quarters.
In the third term, however, the floodgates opened and Echuca kicked 10 goals, in spite of the midfield work of Hugh Kerlin and Ray Pearson.
Rochester was without Declan Pearce, who was on senior duty, and may not see much of Nate Rasmussen this season after he was among the senior team’s better players on Saturday.
Jack Seabrook, Hunter Wileman and Ethan Howard battled bravely in the face of a Murray Bombers onslaught.

The 110-point loss came with a 19.13 (127) to 2.5 (17) scoreline, which saw the Tigers unable to score in the final term as Echuca finished the match with eight goals.
At the defensive end, Rhys Eeles stood firm in the opening term when Echuca managed just three goals, while in attack Brock Perichon and Colin Harvey were the Tigers’ goal scorers.
Dylan Cuttriss played his first game of the season and finished among the Tigers’ best players.
