New mural adds colour to Tooborac Recreation Reserve

Splash of colour: The mural by Eric Sesto features fauna and flora that has brought colour to the Tooborac Recreation Reserve.

A new mural featuring common sights from around the region has added some colour to Tooborac Recreation Reserve.

Artist Eric Sesto grew up in Tooborac and has created a number of murals in Melbourne and overseas.

Mr Sesto approached Mitchell Shire Council with his mural idea and draft designs after returning to Tooborac during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tooborac Recreation Reserve management committee supported the mural creation.

The new mural, which took about 100 hours to complete, features a kangaroo, an eastern rosella and a regent honeyeater set among the native plants and iconic boulders of Tooborac and surrounds.

Mr Sesto was visited by many community members interested in what he was up to, including Tooborac Primary School students who watched the artwork come together over the fence at lunchtime.
