The brand has become part of the Broadford community, employing more than 200 people, most of them locals.
Made in Victoria since it was created, Allen’s has proudly called Broadford home since 1982.
The team now produces more than 19,000 tonnes of lollies at the Broadford factory every year, including about 240 million Allen’s Snakes Alive.
Nestlé Broadford factory manager Axel Castillion said working with one of Australia’s most iconic brands was a sweet job.
“But it’s the people who really make the factory such a special place, and some of our people have been making Allen’s lollies for more than 36 years,” he said.
“Our team will be getting into the spirit by enjoying these new Allen’s products and trying our hand at some of the delicious recipes in the cake book.”
To mark Allen’s 130th birthday the team has created two new packs of lollies – Allen’s Party Faves and Allen’s Piñata Party – made in Broadford and available across Australia from September 1.
Allen’s Party Cake Book has also been launched and is free with the purchase of any three Allen’s or Bakers’ Choice products in a single transaction at participating Coles supermarkets.
“We’re incredibly proud of the products we make, our rich history and the fun that we get to have to create new delicious products to bring a smile to Aussies across the country,” Mr Castillion said.
“While our team can’t be all together right now to celebrate, it’s certainly not stopping the party.”
