Anna was awarded the Fred Hollows Humanity Award on November 20.
The award, a national initiative of The Fred Hollows Foundation, acknowledges Year 6 students who follow in Fred's footsteps by demonstrating humanitarian values towards others.
Anna was nominated by her grandfather Raymond Lloyd for extending kindness and compassion to her extended family and community.
“She represents her school as a vice-captain, encouraging younger students to show empathy and kindness in many compassion projects including visiting the local nursing home and supporting and recognising local business, especially those hit by COVID-19,” Mr Lloyd said.
“This past Easter, Anna also arranged for all the households in the street to receive an Easter surprise as we couldn't visit family and friends.”
The Fred Hollows Foundation's founding director Gabi Hollows congratulated 254 students from across the nation for their kindness, compassion and integrity.
“This year, more than ever, it's important to recognise these values,” Mrs Hollows said.
“So it thrills me to know that amidst everything going on in the world, the foundation was able to celebrate these fine young leaders and highlight the differences they are making in their communities.
“Fred would have been incredibly proud of the contribution these students are making to society, no matter how big or small their actions.”
