On Saturday, June 29, the winery held its Winter Wedding Open Day where couples were able to have a chat with co-ordinators and imagine what their wedding would be like at Mitchelton.
Mitchelton event executive Petra Cannell said she was really pleased with the open day, which was held at the winery’s cellar.
“The ceremony space in our wine cellar was recently revamped with new lighting and looked beautiful with the flowers styled by our local florist, Blu-Belle flowers,” she said.
“We had a mix of new couples exploring potential wedding venues and couples who have already booked their weddings with Mitchelton also attend the day.”
As the cold winter weather persists, Ms Cannell said Mitchelton had become a favourite wedding venue for many, especially on the cold days.
“We are very fortunate to have a beautiful selection of indoor options that are perfect for winter weddings, making Mitchelton a great venue year-round,” she said.
“In particular, the underground cellar is a very unique and romantic space which we are pleased to be able to offer to our couples this time of year.
“Our central Victorian location is also ideal for weddings this time of year as the surrounding area truly is breathtaking.”
Although the cellar has such a romantic aura perfect for tying the knot, it’s not the only space Mitchelton Winery has for a wedding.
“We offer the river deck ceremony space situated on the banks of the Goulburn River,” Ms Cannell said.
“As we exclusively only offer one wedding per day, our couples will always have the choice between the two spaces for their ceremony so they are covered, no matter what the weather is like on the day.”
Ms Cannell said getting to work with couples on their special day was such a rewarding experience.
“The ‘wedding butler’ experience is a feature of weddings at Mitchelton that receives consistent praise. One of our dedicated staff members assists the couple throughout their entire day, helping with ceremony entrances, driving the wedding party around the property for photos and assisting with the set-up and presentation of the reception space,” she said.
“In addition to this, we always receive great feedback about the food, wine and the venue itself.
“Couples often comment on the welcoming feeling that all guests feel from the moment they arrive to the minute they depart.”
She said couples loved the convenience of having everything in one location, which made it easy to turn weddings into weekend getaways.
“With accommodation, a restaurant for pre-wedding dinners, café for post-wedding recovery breakfasts and a day spa all on the same property as the wedding ceremony and reception, we offer a seamless and unparalleled experience,” Ms Cannell said.
