Seventy-three district residents have officially become Australian citizens after they pledged their loyalty at Mitchell Shire Council’s citizenship ceremony at Broadford last week.

The ceremony on Monday, July 25, saw individuals and entire families receive their citizenship in a ceremony conducted by Mitchell Shire deputy mayor Fiona Stevens, alongside chief executive officer Brett Luxford and councillors Rhonda Sanderson, David Lowe, Bob Cornish and Rob Eldridge.
The citizenship ceremony represents the final step in the journey for many new Australians.
