Victorian Outdoor Recreation Minister Sonya Kilkenny visited Seymour on March 31 to announce plans to upgrade the Manners St boat ramp at Lions Park as part of the Better Boating Fund.
The ramp currently has a single-lane concrete ramp with adjacent fixed jetty and parking facilities and has been previously identified as a top priority for upgrades.
Stakeholder engagement will determine areas for improvement and engineering firm Confluence will carry out concept design work.
The concept designs will be presented in coming months for consultation.
Mitchell Shire Council Mayor Fiona Stevens said the boat ramp upgrade would help revitalise Lions Park after the October 2022 floods.
“We are thrilled to see the Victorian Government's investment in the Manners St boat ramp, which will improve access to the beautiful Goulburn River,” she said.
The Better Boating Fund is financed by boaters' registration and license fees.
