Local not-for-profit, the Rangers, has received a generous donation from Elders Insurance, Benalla.
The funding will cover its public liability insurance premium for events its arranging for the coming year.
The Rangers, which is run by a group of enthusiastic volunteers, were thrilled and appreciative of the generous donation.
“We are a not-for-profit organisation fundraising for breast cancer research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital,” a Rangers spokesperson said.
“In almost 30 years we have raised more than $400,000.”
Its membership base of more than 300 comprises rural women from many parts of the state, but mainly north-east Victoria, and parts of southern NSW.
The group meets about four times a year and events are usually held in private gardens, where members and their guests bring their own picnic, lunch and a chair, and listen to a guest speaker.
It is a fun way to stay connected with friends, meet others and raise funds for a worthwhile cause at the same time.
