Jackie McKenzie was the lucky winner of the feature prize of $500 on January 25.
The Big Bucks Bingo game, which the MSCB bingo introduced about two years ago, gives players the chance of winning up to $100 000.
There are other prizes up for grabs as well – the feature prize, a mini jackpot of $2000, maxi jackpot of $10 000, lowest calls prize of $1000, and an in-house jackpot, dependent on sales.
“Jackie was thrilled to win the feature prize,” bingo manager Pam Collings said.
“We have also had another feature win and a mini Jackpot win since we introduced the game, which has proven to be very popular.”
“We’d love to see someone win the major jackpot which is at $50 000 after being won over the Christmas period.
“When it is won by someone it reverts to $30 000 and increments by $5000 until it reaches $100 000 where it stays until it is won, and it is generally won at least a few times every year.”
Pam said the team would love to see new players and invited anyone to come along to try bingo any Saturday at the band rooms at Chittick Park, Pollard St, Seymour.
“Doors are open from about 11 am. Light lunch food and snacks are available to purchase from 11.30 am,” she said.
“Tickets are on sale from noon and play begins at 1 pm. We have a short break at about 1.50 pm when we provide a free cuppa and draw the daily raffle and door prize.
“We like to think we are a friendly mob, ready to welcome anyone who would like to come along and have a go.
“However, you must be 18 years or older. We do not allow minors on the premises during play.
“Our bingo is the band’s main fundraising activity and supplies most of the income for the band.
“So not only are people doing something they love when they play our bingo, they are ensuring the band can continue to provide music at many community events throughout the shire and beyond.”
